Why Use Engineered Wood Products?

Engineered Wood Products (EWP) generally make framing a building much easier than conventional lumber. Because it is a manufactured product, EWP is more stable than wood; it is as strong if not stronger than regular lumber. There is less cupping and twisting than lumber, and sizing is consistent.

For example, when an engineered floor system layout is followed completely, there are no squeaks and minimal deflection due to product movement as there are in regular lumber-framed floors. This stronger, more stable product ensures easier installation and fewer product callbacks in the future.

The EWP product group, which offers another option for framing residential and commercial projects, is sold at all our lumberyards. Most of our yards stock EWP product, depending on the needs of their particular market area, and the full product line is readily available from our local Boise distribution center.
