Alexander Lumber Co. is closing five of its smaller Illinois lumberyards and consolidating two other locations into nearby yards. As a result, from now through mid-Spring 2019, each of these seven locations is holding liquidation or stock reduction sales. Everything is discounted; displays are also for sale.

The Alexander Lumber locations that will be closing include the following:

  • Canton (location closed; auction on April 20, 2019)
  • Lincoln (location closed; auction on April 26, 2019)
  • Monmouth (all inventory sold; location closed)
  • Rushville (all inventory sold; location closed)
  • Taylorville (all inventory sold; location closed)

Additionally, Alexander Lumber Bloomington will be merging with the company’s Le Roy-based lumberyard. The Gilman location will merge with the yards in Fairbury, Ill., and Watseka, Ill.

The Gilman yard has sold all its inventory and is now closed.

The Bloomington location has significant inventory left and will reopen, after housecleaning and reorganizing, on Monday, March 25. It is anticipated to remain open until at least mid-April.
